These words are used to set apart those citizens who voluntarily agree to sacrifice of themselves so our families and communities and country can enjoy life in safety and freedom.

They’re veterans and active-duty service men and women who take up arms.  They’re police officers who fight crime.  They’re firefighters who battle flames and heat.  They’re first-responders who aid the injured and displaced.  They are our neighbors, friends, and relatives.
